Böker Magnum Collection 2019: A Bowie Masterpiece

Gary Groves from West Virginia is a true old-school knifemaker. As a boy, he spent a lot of time outdoors, and his passion for knives began when his father gave him a handmade knife crafted from an old saw blade. After serving in Vietnam, he worked in the West Virginia coal mines, where the demands of his job put his knife-making hobby on hold.

In 2002, a severe accident in the coal mine drastically changed his life, leaving him disabled and unable to continue working. Instead of giving up, he redirected his focus and began immersing himself in his knife-making craft.

Meeting the Mentor

In 2007, Gary met his mentor, Leon Peal, who significantly supported him in his knife-making journey. Since then, Gary has become a well-established member of the knifemaker community. As a member of both the American Knifemaker's Guild and the American Bladesmith Society, he frequently features in various knife magazines. His preference for classical Bowies and fighters is clearly reflected in our Magnum Collection 2019.

Blade Design Traditional

This exceptional piece is no doubt influenced by traditional patterns, but also finds, with the specific signature lines from Gary Groves, its very special expression - and impresses with the outstanding overall result. The blade is crafted of 440C, with a mirror polish finish, which is also applied on the hand guard. The Magnum Collection 2019 is strictly limited to 1,999 pieces worldwide and number 0564 on the blade. It comes with a high quality leather sheath, and in an exclusive collector´s box with a certificate of authenticity.
