Benchmade Mini-Griptilian 556-S30V pocket knife, Mel Pardue design

The Benchmade Mini-Griptilian 556 S30V is a practical pocket knife, designed by Mel Pardue. Ever since its first version many years ago the Benchmade Griptilian is definitely a classic in the knife world. Its ergonomic handle, perfect for both left and right-handed use, combined with different opening mechanisms and blade shapes make the Griptilian a legend in the pocket knife world.

This Benchmade 556 Mini-Griptilian has a droppoint blade. You open it with the double thumb studs after which it is locked by Benchmade's famous Axis-lock. The handle is made from Valox. This is a brand name for a specific type of FRN (glass-reinforced nylon) which feels great in hand, is strong and doesn't weigh too much. In 2019 Benchmade decided to upgrade from 154CM-steel to CPM S30V steel making the Mini-Griptilian even better. CPM S30V is one of the few types of steel that is specifically developed for knives. It retains its sharpness well, and is very corrosion resistant.
